Hi Dave
It would be great if you published photos of my JC Higgins bike.
I was raised in Southern Ca., lived a quarter-mile from the beach, and spent most of my time surfing and riding bicycles. Bicycles have always taken a big part of my life, and now, at the age of 60 and living in Co. Springs Co., my quest for bicycles has increased. I presently own over 20 bicycles and am trying to restore as many of them as possible. My hunt for bikes and parts is a constant thing and something I would love to share.
My 1950 J. C. Higgins Color Flow took a long time of searching, organizing, and a lot of luck to find all the original parts. I`m still trying to discover something: On every part of the bike, including bolts and washers, there is this stamp: 33-111 or 111-33.
I also have several photos of other types of bicycles waiting for their turn to be restored.
Old bicycles can be repaired to the point where they ride great, but when found or purchased, most old bicycles need a lot of work and parts to make them work properly again. The following is a brief overview of old bicycle parts and a brief synopsis of how to care for or repair them.
Thanks Much, Dave Brown
