Hi Dave
Here are a couple more bikes I have.
The first is a 1938 Monark Silver King which at this moment is being buffed to a mirror shine and when completed i`ll send follow up photos. I bought this bike a couple weeks ago from a guy who sells imported oriental rugs in downtown Co. Springs Co. He seems to be a real cool guy and has several other bikes he wold like to sell.
In addition, there is also a 1934-1935 Monark Silver King bike that I found in kind of a different way than the usual way of hunting through hours and even weeks to months of searching.
I was in downtown Colorado Springs Co. looking at through rugs in this antique rug shop when I noticed this shiny thing at the bottom of a stairway. Looked again and it was part of the front wheel and fender of a bike. I asked the owner of the shop what was up with the bike at the bottom of the stairway and could I go down there and check it out. He told me it was really nothing but a old bike which had been there since he rented the building and yes I could check it out!
When I got down to the bike I couldn’t believe my eyes there sat a Silver King bicycle: I had to have it. Turns out the owner had been moving the bike around in his basement the last 20 years and was more than happy to get rid of the thing. So I walked out of his store not carrying a rug but rolling out this silver king bicycle.

I have a Monark Silver King Bicycle that was probably made in the late 1940’s. It was given to me about 1955, and had belonged to my cousin who was 10 years older than me. The parts that are not aluminum are rusty, and the front and rear rims and spokes need replacing. Where can I get parts to do this? I carried it to a bicycle shop in Columbus, GA and he kept it for 6+ months and finally said he could not find any parts to use in restoration. Thanks.
Hi James
Could you upload some images of your Monark Silver King to help other visitors assist you with your search for parts?
Thank you, and good luck
David
